Settlement Overview
- The Notice is to tell you about the settlement of a class action lawsuit, Thomas Grant v. UI Community HomeCare, pending in the Iowa District Court for Johnson County. A proposed settlement has been reached in the lawsuit involving University of Iowa Community Medical Services, LLC d/b/a UI Community HomeCare (“UICH” or “Defendant”) relating to the alleged unauthorized access of files stored on Defendant’s systems, which may have included Private Information (the “Data Security Incident”). If you received a Notice about this Settlement in the mail, you may be a member of the group of people who received notice of the Data Security Incident by UICH and/or University of Iowa Health Care, called the “Settlement Class.” The Notice gives you a summary of the terms of the proposed settlement agreement, explains what rights Settlement Class Members have, and helps class members make informed decisions about what action to take.
